Well, I’ve been meaning to recap the season finale of Gossip Girl all week, but just haven’t had the chance.  So, here it is. 🙂

First off, I want EVERY single prime time soap to take note: Watch the season finale of Gossip Girl…That is how you write a season finale!  It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

OK, so, the Upper East Side kids are all preparing for their high school graduation.  While preparing together, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Serena (Blake Lively) have a conversation where S tells B that Chuck (Ed Westwick) told S that he loves B.  B then asks S is she has told Chuck that she and Nate (Chace Crawford) have broken up yet.  Serena tells Blair that she has not.

Blair and Serena

Meanwhile, Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) sees Nate outside of graduation and they catch up.  Nate apologizes to Vanessa for how he handled things and the events that lead up to their breakup.  She accepts the apology.  Nate then invites Vanessa and Dan (Penn Badgley) to his graduation party.

Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Eric (Connor Paolo) have a conversation about how happy they are that the mean girls are graduating and they wont have to deal with them anymore.  As they converse, the mean girls show up and ask Jenny if she’s going to put her name in the running to become Queen B next year.  Jenny tells them no, but then they introduce Jenny to Emma Boardman (Stella Maeve).  Emma is in the running to become Queen B next year.  Emma has also played with the mean girls before, when Blair was forced to babysit Emma and Emma got in all sorts of trouble.  Upon seeing Emma, Jenny decides that she really doesn’t have a choice but to run for the title herself.  The catch…the girl who comes up with the biggest scoop of gossip by midnight at Nate’s graduation party, gets to become the new queen of Constance Billard.

Eric and Jenny

At graduation, Eleanor (Margaret Colin) and Cyrus (Wallace Shawn) sit behind Rufus (Matthew Settle), Lily (Kelly Rutherford), Jenny, and Eric.  Rufus is already uncomfortable that he and Lily are sitting next to eachother, but then Eleanor and Cyrus make it even more uncomfortable by telling Rufus and Lily what a great couple they make.

Cyrus and Eleanor

The graduates all file in and take their seats.  As the graduation ceremony begins, all the graduates receive a blast from Gossip Girl (voiced by Kristen Bell) on their cell phones.  The blast says:

“Not so fast. You’re not graduating until I give you my diplomas. Mine are labels, and labels stick. Nate Archibald: Class whore. Dan Humphrey: The ultimate insider. Chuck Bass: Coward. Blair Waldorf: Weakling. And as for Serena van der Woodsen, after today, you are officially irrelevant. Congratulations, everyone. You deserve it.”

Gossip Girl

Afterwards, at brunch, Serena vows to take down Gossip Girl once and for all.  She begins trying to figure out how to do so with the help of Blair, Nate, and Chuck.  Meanwhile, Rufus apologizes to Lily and they make up.  Also, Nate talks to his grandfather and tells his grandfather about his affair with the older married woman last summer.  His grandfather is surprised, but promises to protect Nate should the information leak out.  Nate then turns around and tells Chuck that he and Blair broke up.  Serena then asks Dan and Vanessa for help in taking down Gossip Girl.  Dan and Vanessa both turn her down.  So, Serena, Blair, Nate, and Chuck start plotting.  After naming some people who couldn’t be Gossip Girl, Serena decides to send Gossip Girl a text to see whose cell phone in the room starts ringing.  This could determine who Gossip Girl really is.  Serena sends the text…and Jonathan’s (Matt Doyle) phone rings.  Jonathan is Serena’s brother’s, Eric’s, boyfriend.

Jonathan tells the gang that he had broken into Gossip Girl’s account so that he could see all the gossip she was receiving.  However, he is NOT Gossip Girl.  After showing the gang all of the emails that GG has received and hasn’t even used yet, they believe him.  Jenny takes this as an opportunity to find the gossip she needs to become Queen B.  As she looks through, she finds the one piece of gossip that will ensure her title for next year…Blair Waldorf slept with Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) on New Year’s Eve.  Remember, Jack Bass is Chuck’s uncle AND enemy.
Blair and Jack

That night, Lily heads over to Rufus’ place with some beer and a stash of pot that she found in Chuck’s bedroom.  Lily and Rufus proceed to get drunk and high, and he proposes to her.  She accepts!!!  YAY!!!!

Lily and Rufus

Blair and Eleanor have a heart to heart where Blair tells Eleanor that Chuck has not said “I love you” to her yet.  Eleanor tells her daughter not to let Chuck get away with it.

Eleanor and Blair

At Nate’s party, a drunk Nelly Yuki (Yin Chang) runs up to Dan to tell him something she always wanted to tell him.  However, Serena shows up and Nelly runs off.  Aww, Nelly has a crush on Dan!!!

Jenny approaches Blair to tell B that GG knows the scoop about B and Jack.  She wants to let B know that she’s going to use this gossip to become the new queen next year.  Blair tells Little J that she doesn’t have what it takes to be queen and to shut up.  Little J runs over to the mean girls and tells them that her gossip is too good to wait until midnight and she wants to tell them now.

Blair and Jenny: The Showdown

Blair and Jenny: The Showdown

Blair takes Chuck into a bedroom and begins to undress.  The two start to make out passionately, and then comes a new blast from Gossip Girl…

“Serena just couldn’t leave well enough alone. Since she had to find out the truth about me, I’m going to tell you the truth about everyone. Every gossip bomb I’ve got is about to drop, and if you’ve got a problem with that, take it up with her. Ever wonder why Miss Carr (Laura Breckenridge) left town? It’s because Dan Humphrey had sex with her during the school play…”

GG keeps going, spilling about Jenny’s PG-13 photo shoot (Nate was there), Dan going to jail, Blair and Jack Bass, and Chuck and Vanessa.

Gossip Girl blasts Serena

Now the fun begins, as all the kids begin fighting with one another.  Jenny didn’t know Dan was in jail, Dan didn’t know that Jenny posed for some naughty photos in front of Nate, Blair didn’t know Chuck slept with Vanessa, and Chuck didn’t know that Blair slept with Jack.

The mean girls want to know what gossip Jenny had…however, GG scooped Jenny, and now Jenny has NOTHING.  Chuck takes off after a heated confrontation with Blair, Blair blames Serena for the entire mess, Dan defends Serena and Blair attacks him saying he truly is one of them and that GG was right in calling him the “Ultimate Insider”.   In the bathroom, Blair confronts Jenny and tells Little J that once again Chuck didn’t say “I love you”.  She tells Little J to use this gossip as her leverage to become queen, however, Little J says she just can’t use it.  Blair then tells Jenny that Little J is her queen.  It’s a really sweet moment.

Blast from the past: Vanessa and Chuck

Serena is pissed.  So, she sends a text to Gossip Girl telling GG to meet her at a bar.  Serena is going to find out who this b!tch is!  Nate goes with Serena to the bar and they chit chat.  They wait for over an hour, and then Dan walks in.  Nate wonders if Dan is Gossip Girl, but he says he received a text to meet Serena at the bar…he’s not actually GG.  Blair files in next, then Jenny and Eric, and a whole slew of other kids.  Once all together, they receive a new text from Gossip Girl saying:

“You wanted to meet Gossip Girl? Well, look around. I’m nothing without you. And while most high school friendships fade, it’s my hope that what happened today will bond you forever. Now that all my secrets are out, you have a clean slate. Until college. Congratulations, I’m coming with you.”

Fast forward one week:

Rufus presents Lily with a real engagement ring.  Blair and Serena have made up and Serena is packing to go to Europe for the summer.  Nate walks into a coffee shop where Vanessa and Dan are, and asks Vanessa if she’d still be interested in having him join her on the backpacking trip this summer.  After some hesitation, Vanessa agrees.  Dan strikes up a conversation with some kid and they learn that they’ll both be going to NYU in the fall.  The kids introduces himself as Scott (Chris Riggi).  As Dan, Nate, and Vanessa leaves, Scott shoots Dan a really diabolical look, but Dan doesn’t see it.  Later, Scott makes a phone call to his mother and says he’s in Portland and has met some cool people.  He then looks down at a newspaper article he has of Lily and Rufus.  Scott is their lovechild!!!!

Blair takes Jenny to the meeting of the mean girls and declares Jenny queen of Constance Billard.  The mean girls are really pissed, as they were about to crown Emma with that title.  However, once Blair tells them that Little J’s dad is about to marry Lily, making Little J the richest of all of them, they concede, and Jenny begins giving her rules for school next year.

Dan gets a call from Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg).  Georgina tells him that the money that Poppy (Tamara Feldman) and Gabrielle (Armie Hammer) stole is back in his account.  He wants to know how, but she doesn’t tell him.  Georgina tells him that she’ll see him next year, which leaves him confused.  They hang up, and we find that Georgina is enrolled at NYU and she is at the student center.  She requests a roommate…Blair Waldorf.  WOO HOO!!!!

Serena packs up the car to leave for Europe and is greeted by Carter Baizen (Sebastian Stan).  Carter has been causing trouble for the gang for 2 years now.  He tells her that he has the info she was seeking when she went to Santorini.  It’s info on her father and where he is!!!  Carter gets in the car with Serena and they head off.

Chuck finds Blair out on the street, gives her a bunch of gifts, and finally says the three words she’s been wanting to hear “I love you”.  The two have a VERY romantic moment kissing, giggling, and joking.  Fade to black.

The End!

FANTASTIC episode and the fact that it tied up EVERY single story from all season long was AMAZING!  My hats off to the writers and I cannot WAIT for next season!

Last night’s Gossip Girl (entitled The Wrath of Con) was AWESOME!!!!!  So much great stuff to talk about.

First up, early on in the episode, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Nate (Chace Crawford) go to see Serena (Blake Lively) and comfort her after she found out that Gabriel (Armie Hammer) took her money (and the money of many of her family’s friends) and ran.  While they are comforting her, Chuck (Ed Westwick) enters the room, leaving Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) in the living room.  Then Dan (Penn Badgley) walks in to talk Serena into going to family brunch.  Finally, Georgina walks in the room and all hell breaks loose.  It was SO awesome to see all these characters in one room together and their reactions to Georgina…who is now a Bible toting Christian.

So, the gang sets up an elaborate plan to get Gabriel.  Serena calls him and leaves him a voice mail saying she’s preggers.  That causes Gabriel to call her right back and set up a date with her.  At the restaurant, Serena confronts Gabriel about stealing all the money, but Gabriel says that it was actually Poppy (Tamara Feldman) who stole all the money.  Serena lets Gabriel leave, and the gang now has to figure out how to get at Poppy.  Since Poppy knows all of them, it will be harders.  Enter Georgina.

Gabriel, Poppy, and Serena

Blair realizes that Georgina could be VERY useful in their scheme to get Poppy, so she convinces Georgina to set up Poppy.  Georgina is hesitant to do this b/c God would not approve of her lying.  However, Blair convinces her that God brought her back to the Upper East Side so she could redeem herself with the gang by doing this.  Georgina agrees, and Blair makes the statement “Poppy makes the old Georgina look like the new Georgina”.  Too funny!

Georgina, Blair, and Nate

Later, Georgina and Poppy meet for lunch and Georgina asks if she could invest in Poppy’s company.  Poppy agrees, takes Georgina’s money, and runs.  The gang had called the cops to arrest Poppy, but Serena’s mother, Lily (Kelly Rutherford) was against this scheme all along b/c she didn’t want Serena’s name all over the tabloids, so Lily has Serena arrested for stealing jewelry.  Serena gets arrested, and Poppy runs off with the money.

Serena getting arrested!

Serena getting arrested!

Blair confronts Georgina believing that Georgina set this all up to get even with the gang for the events of last year.  She tells Georgina that she’ll NEVER forgive her.  This causes Georgina to reflect on the person she’s become.

Meanwhile, the Nate-Blair-Chuck love triangle heated up and Nate asked Chuck to either confess his love for Blair or back off so Nate and Blair could be together.  Blair and Chuck have a heart to heart and she gives him the opportunity to tell her he loves her, but Chuck says it’s just all a game to him and he hates to lose.  Blair runs to Nate and they make up.

Also, Rufus (Matthew Settle) has decided to propose to Lily.  He meets with Eric (Connor Paolo) to discuss, and he and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) set up a beautiful dinner or lunch where Rufus will propose.  While he’s setting up the dining room, he comes across papers Lily stashed away about the whole Gabriel/Poppy debacle.  He realizes that the money was stolen and that Lily is paying back all the investors out of her own pocket.  He also realizes that Lily was going to lie to him and make him think that his money was actually growing, and she was going to pay him out of her own pocket his dividends.  Infuriated, Rufus decides not to propose, and asks Jenny and Dan to return the engagement ring.

Finally, at the end of the episode, Serena is still locked up and Blair phone rings outside the police station.  It’s Georgina, and we see that she’s following Poppy.  She tells Blair that she’s going to do the job that the rest of the gang couldn’t.  Blair says that Georgina sounds funny.  Georgina says “Tell Jesus the Bitch is back!”.  She hangs up and has her taxi follow Poppy in the limo.  AWESOME!

Georgina: The Bitch is Back!

Georgina: The Bitch is Back!

Last night this show was just amazing.  So many great lines, I loved that the entire cast, minus Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) was tied up in the same story, and it was great to see Georgina’s claws come back out.  And how great was it that when Jenny was trying to distract Lily while Rufus set up the meal for the proposal, that Jenny was giving Lily a synopsis of Edward and Bella’s romance in the Twilight series?  Perfect!  Because a girl her age would obviously be reading those books.

Also, I checked out Gossip Girl Insider this morning and it still appears that Chuck and Blair will get back together in the season finale.  Also, it seems that Rufus and Lily’s lovechild will not only turn up in the season finale, but that he will also be a regular on the series next year.  Michael Ausiello reports that the actor playing their son is an unknown just as Jessica Szohr was before she joined the cast of Gossip Girl.  Cool stuff!

Next week’s episode, Valley Girls, will introduce the major players of the GG spinoff and will obviously flashback to Lily’s teen years in Los Angeles.  I’m really looking forward to it!

So, what did you all think of last night’s episode???

Last night’s GG was AWESOME!!!!  I absolutely LOVED it!  I knew it would be awesome from the beginning scene when Nate (Chace Crawford) is attempting to teach Blair (Leighton Meester) how to use the subway, and she responds with “There’s no way I’m going down there.  It’s full of mole men and middle-class professionals”.  LOL!!!!  From that point on, we were in for a great ride.

Nate and Blair

Nate and Blair

First off, EVERY single character is now tied into the storyline of Gabriel (Armie Hammer) and Poppy (Tamara Feldman).  Lily (Kelly Rutherford) has invested money from Bass Industries into Gabriel’s “project”, which also affects Chuck (Ed Westwick), since that’s his family’s company.  It also affects Serena (Blake Lively) and Eric (Connor Paolo) since they are Lily’s kids.  Then Rufus (Matthew Settle) also goes and invests money, which will affect him and Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) since they are his kids.   And of course, if Rufus ends up going bankrupt, that will put Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) out of a job.  On top of all of this, Serena is semi-married to Gabriel, and Blair and Chuck are out investigating the guy.  Meanwhile, Nate is getting jealous of Blair and Chuck spending time together as they try to get to the bottom of what Gabriel and Poppy are up to.  Which brings me to the reappareance of Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg), since Blair and Chuck sought Georgina out last night to help them uncover the truth about Gabriel and Poppy.  So, now every single character is tied up in this mess, and it’s AWESOME!!!  All of this came to light in just one episode last night.  That’s fantastic!  It was fast paced, witty, and as always…BEAUTIFUL!

Now onto the season finale spoilers…

First up, Chuck and Blair.  We have been told that if we’re a fan of this couple (I am!), that we’ll LOVE the season finale.  Guess that Chuck and Blair are getting back together!  WOO HOO!!!

Next up, we’ll definitely be meeting Rufus and Lily’s kid!  Wonder who it will be and how they’ll affect the storyline’s going forward???

So, what do you all think???

What can I say?  Gossip Girl was AWESOME tonight!  One of the best episodes in the last several weeks.  So many great things to talk about here!  🙂

First off, I loved that Blair’s mother, Eleanor (Margaret Colin) and Cyrus (Wallace Shawn) were featured.  I love those two actors, they are just so funny.  The Passover dinner scenes were fantastic!

Cyrus Rose and Eleanor Waldorf Rose

Cyrus Rose and Eleanor Waldorf Rose

Next up, the resolution to the Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) story.  It’s about time we got some closure to the story that started between them all the way in the very first episode of season 1.  The original story came straight out of the pages of the Gossip Girl books and I loved it.  I really loved the resolution tonight, and wonder where it’s going to go.  Will Chuck and Jenny become friends?

Jenny Humphrey and Chuck Bass

Jenny Humphrey and Chuck Bass

Blair (Leighton Meester) and Nate (Chace Crawford)…wow, what a power couple they are.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely a Chuck and Blair fan, but still, Blair and Nate DO have some magic between them.  Such a cute couple, and the scenes between them were great.  Even better was the very first scene between Blair and Nate’s grandfather!  When he was manipulating her into convincing Nate to go to Yale and she turned the tables on him to ensure that not only would he get her into Yale as well, but also put her in his other grandson’s wedding party.  Too bad he turned the tables on her in the end, but she still came out on top.  That’s my Blair!  🙂

Blair Waldorf and Nate Archibald

So, Serena (Blake Lively) got married to Gabriel (Armie Hammer) in Spain, huh?  And it looks like Poppy (Tamara Feldman) and Gabriel are setting her up.  Very interesting.  Even more interesting is the return of Michelle Trachtenberg’s Georgina Sparks next week.  Georgina couldn’t have come back at a better time.  Maybe she’ll be the one to put Poppy and Gabriel in their places.  I hear that Georgina and Blair are going to really lock horns this time around.

Gabriel Serrano and Serena van der Woodsen

Gabriel Serrano and Serena van der Woodsen

I was sad that Dorota (Zuzanna Szadkowski) didn’t appear tonight, as she is such a scene stealer.  But I hear that Dorota will be hanging around for a long time.  That’s very good news!

Dorota and Blair Waldorf

Dorota and Blair Waldorf

I love any scene that features Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle).  Those two are just so awesome and have such great chemistry.  I also love how they’re covering up Kelly Rutherford’s pregnancy on the show.  They’re coming up with some very creative ways to hide that tummy.  🙂

Rufus Humphrey and Lily van der Woodsen Bass

Rufus Humphrey and Lily van der Woodsen Bass

Also missing in action tonight was Vannesa (Jessica Szohr).  I haven’ t been a huge fan of her character on the show, but in the books I loved her.  I’m hoping that Vanessa will get a good storyline soon.  In the books, Vanessa and Dan (Penn Badgley) are the couple to root for, but on the show they’re really pushing us to want Serena with Dan.  I’m starting to feel that Serena and Dan have run their course on the show.  They’ve gotten together and broken up so many times that I can’t keep count.  So, maybe it’s time to see how Vanessa and Dan would work on TV.

Dan Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams

I can’t wait to see what next week will bring us, especially with Georgina making a big return.  It looks like Georgina found religion and wants to save Chuck!  And it looks like Blair catches Poppy and Gabriel making out behind Serena’s back.  Lots of good stuff, let the games begin!
